Tennessee Titans Release Exciting New Stadium Video With Fresh Looks at the Future Campus
NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans will be getting a brand new stadium in the coming years and on Wednesday the team released the best look yet at what the stadium itself could look like and what the overall campus could look like.
In the video, we first get an idea of what the surrounding landscape could look like and get a peak at the in-stadium concourse area. The video quickly makes it's way into the seating area and we see a massive jumbotron looking over the field.
The translucent roof looks incredible in the video, allowing the sun to shine through while still remaining covered and protecting the field and crowd from any potential weather.
In this humble writer's opinion, we then move to the most gorgeous part of the video and that is seeing the stadium as it will be within the Nashville city skyline. One of the most beautiful cities in the country is highlighted excellently by the new stadium design.
As the sun drops and the night begins, we see a large light on the front of the stadium that creates an incredible ambience. Primetime events look like they will be a riveting occasion. Speaking of primetime events, it won't just be football games at this new venue.
We get to see an idea of what a major concert could look like at the new stadium, a huge part of the appeal of the project. This new stadium will create a state-of-the-art facility that can host concerts, major events like political gathers and of course, sporting events of all kinds.
The video is set to a soothing rendition of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" and by the end of the video you can see why, as the circular stadium takes the form of a ring of fire. Perhaps setting up a nickname for the arena. An incredible graphics transition from the stadium to the Titans' primary logo ends the exciting ride.
As a refresher, the Titans are getting a new stadium because of how outdated the current stadium is and the cost to renovate it. Nissan stadium, the Titans' current home, was made with concrete, not the more modern steel option, meaning the entire skeleton of the stadium would need to be re-done.
Not only that, but the windows are no longer manufactured and other issues like electrical replacements would be nearly impossible due to the out-of-style nature of how the Titans' current stadium was built.
It ended up being nearly the same cost to build an entirely new stadium as opposed to undertaking the massive renovations the current stadium would need. The city of Nashville legally owed the Titans a better facility, so the decision to build a new home entirely made more sense financially.
As mentioned before, a new, enclosed stadium now allows the city to host things outside of NFL football like mega-concerts, political events, Wrestlemania, the College Football Playoffs and Final Four. It is a win-win for the city and the team.
At this time, projections expect the stadium to be complete by 2026 or 2027, with the Titans expected to play in the arena by 2027, at minimum. Timelines always change, but what shouldn't change is the excitement for the new venue. It may be a few years away, but everyone seems to be anticipating the opening of the "Ring of Fire."
