Tennessee Titans Make Series of Roster Moves Including Adding Punter Ty Zentner
The Tennessee Titans losing to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday might not have been the toughest blow of the weekend as some key players were also injured during the game. That includes Ryan Stonehouse, the team's excellent punter.
The NFL's first release of pro bowl voting had Stonehouse with the most votes of any punter in the league, so he will not be easy to replace, but that is exactly what Ty Zentner will be tasked with doing after the Titans added him to the roster on Tuesday.
Zentner, a 25-year old rookie out of Kansas State, punted in four games for the Houston Texans to start the season and had an average of 42.1 yards per punt. That pails in comparison to Stonehouse, who led the NFL with 53.1 yards per punt.
Zentner was added to the practice squad and not the 53-man roster, so the expectation is that Zentner would be a gameday elevation for the Titans come Monday night against the Miami Dolphins. If he takes advantage of the opportunity, he should be elevated in the near future permanently.
Zentner wasn't the only addition though. The Titans also added linebacker JoJo Domann to the practice squad, while elevating linebacker Otis Reese to the 53-man roster. These moves at linebacker come after the surprise release of former third-round pick Monty Rice on Tuesday.
Reese made the Titans' initial 53-man roster as an undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss. He drew praise from Mike Vrabel and should be expected to make an impact on special teams right away.
Domann went undrafted out of Nebraska in 2022, but stuck with the Colts in his rookie campaign and played in 16 games. Domann played 264 snaps on special teams for the Colts last season, but hasn't made an appearance in an NFL game yet this year.
