Tennessee Titans Who Should Dominate Against Minnesota Vikings in Joint Practices

The Tennessee Titans head to Minnesota this week to matchup with the Vikings and there are certain Titans players who should have a consistent advantage of their competition.

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans won't play the Minnesota Vikings in the regular season this year, but they should get a healthy amount of reps against them in the week ahead. The Titans will have two joint practice sessions and their second preseason game of the year against the NFC North participant this week.

While the Vikings certainly present some difficult matchups, there are also some area where the Titans should have a distinct advantage. Certain matchups should go in the favor of the Titans and we should be keeping an eye on the outcome.

Titans WRs v Vikings CBs

It is a wild thing to experience, but calling the Titans' receivers a strength is real. The Vikings brought in free agent corner Byron Murphy in the offseason, who is a good player, but outside of Murphy, the Vikings don't have much proven depth at corner back.

Young corners like Mekhi Blackmon, Akayleb Evans and Andrew Booth take up some of the other spots at the top of the depth chart. If DeAndre Hopkins and Treylon Burks are the players they have been reported to be in training camp so far, the pair should dominate the matchup in practice all week long.

It is clear to see as you go down the depth charts at the positions for both teams, the Titans' young receivers fighting for a spot like Reggie Roberson Jr, Kearis Jackson, Tre'Shaun Harrison and Colten Dowell could set themselves apart this week.

Titans IDL v Vikings IOL

Jeffery Simmons, Denico Autry, Teair Tart and Jayden Peevy should have a field day at practices this week. Not only is that one of the best defensive lines in football, but the Vikings also have a weakness on their interior.

The Vikings' starting interior trio consists of Garrett Bradbury at center, with Ezra Cleveland and Ed Ingram at guard. The three of them gave up 18 sacks and 135 pressures in 2022. The Vikings have solid tackles in Christian Darrisaw and Brian O'Neill, but it can get ugly inside.

The Titans are ideally suited to take advantage of this weakness and we should hear a ton about Simmons and company wrecking shop for the Vikings' offense. The Titans defense will be built on the work this group does, so they should have a solid week ahead.
