NASHVILLE - Let's end the debate about the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans once and for all. It goes like this; the Oilers franchise left Houston for Tennessee in 1996, where the then Oilers played two seasons here, one in Memphis and one in Nashville at Vanderbilt Stadium, before moving to Adelphia Coliseum and transforming into the Tennessee Titans in 1998.

So the Oilers were, in fact, a franchise in this state and city for two seasons before the name change occurred.

So, as controlling owner Amy Adams-Strunk said per TitansOnline's  Jim Wyatt and the team's press release on Sunday night,  "Oilers history is Titans history."

With that settled, the Titans unveiled their tribute to their former selves in the form of throwback uniforms the team will wear at some point during the coming season.

"The uniforms will pay homage to the Luv Ya' Blue era," according to Wyatt's story.

While it's this writer's opinion, these tributes to the "Luv Ya Blue" era of the franchise Houston history are clean and sharp in design and detail.

I'm excited to be able to be in attendance when the team takes to the field dressed in these uniforms this season.
