Thursday's injury report: Pamphile needs more time
Kevin Pamphile is on the road to recovery. It is just going to take him a while to get there.
Thursday, for the second straight day, the Tennessee Titans’ reserve offensive lineman was a limited participant in practice. He remains limited by the knee injury that has caused him the first four games, though, to the point that coaches do not plan to play him Sunday against Buffalo either.
“Kevin’s probably going to be a week away,” coach Mike Vrabel said prior to Thursday’s session.
Also Thursday, tight end Delanie Walker was a full participant despite his own knee injury. That puts him ahead of where he was last week, when he sat out workouts on Wednesday and Thursday.
Outside linebacker Cameron Wake (hamstring) did not practice for the second straight day.
Pamphile’s progress is the latest positive development for an offensive line that has had its depth tested right from the start of this season. Left tackle Taylor Lewan is set to make his season debut following the completion of his four-game suspension. Rookie guard Nate Davis made his NFL debut Sunday in Atlanta.
When Pamphile (pictured) is ready he will be – at worst – the Titans’ most versatile and valuable reserve interior lineman. At best, he will be a candidate to start at right guard, which he was in line to do until the knee injury arose days prior to the season opener.
