NASHVILLE— Las Vegas Raiders interim coach Antonio Pierce interviewed on Saturday with Tennesee Titans leadership for the head coaching opening created by the team parting ways with Mike Vrabel.

Pierce, who is 45 years old, became the Raiders' coach after the team fired Josh McDaniels. He led the team to an upset win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas, ending with a record of 5-4. The Raiders are considering removing the interim tag from Pierce, but he is exploring his options as they continue interviewing other candidates.

Pierce began coaching as a high school head coach at Long Beach Poly in California before joining Arizona State in 2018 as linebackers coach and recruitment coordinator. He worked at Arizona State from 2018 to 2021, where he was promoted to Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator. After that, he joined the Raiders.

On Friday, the Titans interviewed Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan and Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka for the position.

The Titans have requested interviews with at least nine coaches: Callahan, Kafka, Pierce, the Detroit Lions' Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson, the Baltimore Ravens' Mike Macdonald, the Dallas Cowboys' Dan Quinn, the Houston Texans' Bobby Slowik, and the Philadelphia Eagles' Brian Johnson.
