NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans wide receiver room is an utter disaster. Outside of second-year player Treylon Burks, you could argue the Titans have zero NFL talent at the position. The Titans need to add a few receivers before the season begins and while most expect some additions in the NFL draft, it appears the Titans are looking at adding a veteran as well in Chris Moore.

According to a report from Mike Garafolo of the NFL network, the Titans are set to meet with Moore today. Moore is a seven-year veteran who has played with the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans in his career. Moore has put up only 116 catches for 1,286 yards in 89 games in his career.

Last year with the Houston Texans, Moore put up career highs in catches and yards with 48 and 548, respectively. He has some ability as a kick returner as well. The Titans have nothing, but young players at wide receiver at the moment so you could see why they would want to add a 30 year old to such a youthful room.

The reality is here though that Moore has never been more than a backend of the depth chart player. He does not fundamentally change the current standing of the Titans' wide receiver room. Moore falls in line with other veterans that have disappointed in recent years like Chester Rogers and Marcus Johnson.

If the Titans sign Moore, fans should beware of training camp hype. Far too often we have heard glowing reports about castoffs from other team's during training camp only for those players to be exactly what they always have been when the lights come on.

Adding anyone with real NFL experience should garner some positive responses, but at the end of the day this would be a non-consequential signing that does nothing to improve the Titans in the receiver department or as a team overall.
