NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans were thrown a potential lifeline for their morbid wide receiver group last week when DeAndre Hopkins was released by the Arizona Cardinals. Now, the Titans have a chance to sign Hopkins and if they were able to, three major pros stand out.

Winning Chances

The most obvious benefit the Titans would receive is wins. With Hopkins in tow, and generally an NFL-caliber starting wide receiver tandem, the Titans would certainly win more games this year.

You can debate how high the Titans' ceiling goes with a Hopkins addition, but it can't be argued that the ceiling goes higher if it happened. A double-digit wins season would be much more likely and all Titans fans should be happy about that. If this is Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry's last ride, the Titans would at least give them a chance to win big.

Impact on Young WRs

The Tennessee Titans don't just have a bad receiver room, but they have a young one as well. Chris Moore is the elder statesman at 30 years old, but after that is a long list of receivers who aren't even out of their rookie contract. Treylon Burks, Kyle Philips, Racey McMath, Reggie Roberson, Mason Kinsey and a group of rookie receivers could all use tutelage from Hopkins.

Hopkins has been dominant in the NFL since some of these guys were in middle school. Not only would Hopkins improve the talent level, but he could push his wisdom forward and help this young group learn some of the intricacies of the position.

Titans' Reputation

The Titans' reputation around the league had to have taken a hit when A.J. Brown was traded. Star plays, particularly wide receivers, had to look at the move and wonder why anyone would choose to go to the Titans.

If Hopkins were to come to Nashville and play well, it could really help fix any damage to the Titans' reputation and help repair some of the scars left by the Brown move. The Titans have a cursed history at receiver and a Hopkins signing, then subsequent good season, could start to reverse that trend.
