NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans are in the midst of their pursuit of DeAndre Hopkins and when you are in this position, every little detail matters. Even though all reports indicate Hopkins visit with the Titans went well, they may have made one mistake that is concerning.

According to Michael Lombardi via the Pat McAfee show, the Titans flew Hopkins to the visit on Southwest Airlines, which based on Lombardi's quote, doesn't seem like a good decision to him. Before going forward though it is worth noting it has not been confirmed that the Titans did fly Hopkins on Southwest, but this is what Lombardi had to say.

"I know Tennessee wined and dined him, Pat. They did a tremendous job," Lombardi explained. "The problem is, if you are wining and dining somebody, don't fly 'em on Southwest. I think you gotta put 'em on a personal air plane."

Now, I personally am not a travel journalist, so I will refrain from giving personal opinions on flights, but Lombardi points out something that could matter to Hopkins. Will the Titans treat him the best while he plays there if they didn't treat him the best in the recruiting phase?

The reality is, we don't know how Hopkins feels about the transportation to his visit and it's completely logical that Hopkins doesn't care at all about the flight on Southwest. We can't confirm, but Lombardi thinks it could have an effect.

"That could set the visit off on the wrong foot, if you will and nothing against Southwest cause look, I fly it all the time, but if I were recruiting, I would not do that," Lombardi said. "Put that in a note, make sure you make that (change)."

Hopkins may not make a decision on what team he wants to sign with until closer to training camp at the end of July. Even if Hopkins chooses another team, without comment from Hopkins to confirm, we won't know how much the flight factored in, but if the Titans were smart, they would examine their process in case it did matter.
