Two USFL Receivers The Titans Could Look To As Potential Additions

The Tennessee Titans are always looking to upgrade their roster, and now that the USFL season is coming to a close, could they look to that league for players?

NASHVILLE - Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel was evident during his post-draft press conference that he and general manager Ran Carthon would continue to look for talent to upgrade their roster.

Now that the USFL season is approaching, the Titans and every other team will likely be scouring those rosters for players that could improve their teams.

One area of concern for the Titans is the wide receiver situation, where, despite comments to the contrary, this team could stand to look for upgrades for that group.

Two players are among the 2023 USFL veterans who might intrigue the Titans at the receiver spot—one former NFL first-round pick and the other a former undrafted rookie.

 Corey Coleman

A former first-round selection of the Cleveland Browns in the 2016 NFL Draft, Coleman was less than spectacular for one of the worst team’s in the league. He was traded after his second season with the team, and after short stops with the Bills and Giants, his NFL dream died.

However, Coleman’s football career experienced a resurrection in 2023 with the USFL’s Philadelphia Stars. The former first-rounder collected 51 receptions for 669 yards and four touchdowns.

For his performance, Coleman was named to the 2023 All-USFL Team offense.

At 5-foot-11 and 195-pounds, Coleman posted a 4.32 forty during the Baylor pro day in 2016. That kind of speed would be a welcome addition to almost any team.

Justin Hall

Another member of the 2023 All-USFL Team offense, Hall, the former Ball State standout also spent time in the NFL as an undrafted rookie with the Raiders.

“Hall is a Swiss Army Knife-type of skill player who can be used as a receiver, to run reverses, and as a return specialist,” wrote Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network. “He comes with limitations, and his play on special teams this summer will determine whether or not he makes a roster in the fall.”

Hall failed to make the Raiders roster but got an opportunity to show his skills with the Houston Gamblers this season.

Hall amassed 47 receptions for 513 yards and four scores this season with the Gamblers.

Hall was named to the All-MAC team five times in college, including being named first-team twice. Statistically, Hall collected 318 receptions for 3,385 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also returned kicks and punts during that time.

Of course, there could be other players that the Titans might look at, but given the status of these two players as All-USFL talents, these should likely be near the top of the list of potential candidates.
