Tennessee Titans Offensive Player Grades & Takeaways From Week 1 Loss to New Orleans Saints
The Tennessee Titans lost to the New Orleans Saints in their first game of the year and as we see each week, Pro Football Focus has released their player grades. Let's take a look at how PFF graded the Titans on the offensive side of the ball.
Top Five Overall Grades
LG Peter Skoronski - 81.3 Overall Grade
RB Derrick Henry - 76.0
RG Daniel Brunskill - 75.7
WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine - 75.4
OT Chris Hubbard - 69.4
Surprising to see three offensive linemen in the top five considering it felt like Ryan Tannehill was under pressure for most of the game. However, the Titans offensive line only surrendered 12 total pressures and two sacks. The Titans offensive line also got good push in the run game, averaging 5.2 yards per carry if you take out three failed scrambles by Tannehill that resulted in only five yards.
Seeing Henry's name makes it even more confusing that he was out-snapped by rookie Tyjae Spears and only received 15 carries in a game where he averaged over four yards per carry. Henry was productive all day in the run game and pass game.
Grades of Note
QB Ryan Tannehill - 49.1 Overall Grade(14th out of 16 players)
Tannehill struggled mightily in Sunday's game against the Saints and it doesn't take a player grade to know that. The fact Tannehill wasn't the lowest-ranked Titan is probably the biggest surprise. Only tight ends Trevon Wesco and Chig Okonkwo ranked lower.
LT Andre Dillard - 44.6 Pass Blocking Grade
Dillard was the Titans' lowest-graded pass blocking in the game. He allowed zero sacks, but a team-high six pressures. Aaron Brewer gave up the second-most pressures in the game and it was only half of what Dillard surrendered. Dillard hasn't had a true chance to be a full-time starter in the NFL yet and he will need to improve quickly after struggling to start the year.
