ESPN is doing everything it can to create a broadcasting war, reportedly trying to acquire legendary broadcaster Al Michaels from NBC to pair with retired all-time great QB Peyton Manning. With the NFL TV rights negotiations coming up, ESPN hopes to receive better NFL games and potentially a Super Bowl. SI’s media columnist Jimmy Traina explains that pairing Manning-Michaels could come down to ESPN convincing Manning to get in the booth, which is something he’s refused since retiring.
