NFL Regular Season Will Extend to 17 Games with the New CBA
SI's Albert Breer shares what this means for the league and the players

The new CBA calls for an extension to a 17-game NFL season, however the extension will not go into effect until the 2021 season with the potential of not going into effect until the 2023 season. This decision is the result of the NFL wanting to have a larger broadcasting deal with television networks; the decision did not come without pushback from the NFLPA, who cited the health concerns that come with extending the season.
