Ravens MVP QB Jackson is on Madden 21's Cover
Lamar Jackson's Madden 21 cover has been revealed.
And while the reigning NFL MVP is an unbelievable player, most believe Patrick Mahomes is the best QB in the league. However, do Jackson's skills translate into being the better video game character? Sports Illustrated host Robin Lundberg talked with SI's Ben Pickman and "The Fantasy Exec" Corey Parson to get their takes on who they'd rather play as in the iconic football video game franchise.

Robin Lundberg: Lamar Jackson's Madden cover has been revealed, and while most consider Patrick Mahomes to be the best quarterback in the NFL, Lamar is special as well. Is he actually a better video game character? For more, I'm joined by our Ben Pickman and the fantasy exec Corey Parson. Corey, let's start with you. Which guy are you choosing to play in Madden?
Corey Parson: Well, I'm going to take Patrick Mahomes because of his ability throw the football. Now, listen, we've seen Michael Vick years in the past. When you used to play with Michael Vick you just ran all over the field, Bo Jackson, and definitely running as a special talent Lamar Jackson has. And when you look at what Patrick Mahomes can do throwing the football, deep down field making plays on the run and whether it be underhanded or jumping out of bounds, all the exciting things he can do on his own. You know what? I'll take Patrick Mahomes.
Robin Lundberg: You know, there's two things I like to do in those kind of games that it's roll out and throw deep. As Corey mentioned, which Mahomes can do. But then it's also take off, which Jackson can do.
Ben Pickman: Right. And I think that's why I would lean to Lamar Jackson. But let's be clear on this one. Lamar can also throw the football right. He did throw for more than 3,100 yards last year in his MVP season. So you don't want to discount his arm strength or passing ability or the core of the Baltimore Ravens. But, yes, I think the appeal of Lamar is, as you mentioned, Robin, the ability to scramble and take off. He had more than 1,200 rushing yards last year. And I think the scramble ability being like Michael Vick in the past and other mobile quarterbacks just add another element to a Madden game that you wouldn't otherwise have on most other teams. And so that's why I think you have to go with number eight on the Ravens.
Robin Lundberg: It's interesting because he can do both those things I mentioned. Right. Roll out and throw deep. And you have to be very good to take advantage of some of Mahomes' skills with those precise passes. But I'd imagine he's filling up all the Madden ratings. Corey. Ben, appreciate your time, as always.
