NFLPA Releases a Statement Discouraging Players From Joint Workouts
The NFLPA released a statement Saturday discouraging players from joint workouts as the Coronavirus pandemic continues to spike.
The statement read in part “in light of the increase in COVID-19 cases in certain states… no players should be engaged in practicing together in private workouts.”
Several NFL players on eight different teams have tested positive for Coronavirus in recent weeks.
The statement goes on to state “we are working on the best mitigation procedures at team facilities for both training camp and the upcoming season, and believe that it is in the best interest of all players that we advise against any voluntary joint practices before training camp commences.”
The NFL’s 32 teams are currently scheduled to report to training camp at the end of July.
