Washington to change the franchise name given back in 1933

Ron Rivera is hopeful a name change could come prior to the beginning of the 2020 NFL season.

Washington head coach Ron Rivera and team owner Dan Snyder have been talking about a possible name change for the football team for more than a month. It's a chance that many Native American leaders have long called for.

Washington's franchise has used the nickname since 1933 when the team still was based in Boston but Rivera sounds hopeful that a change could come prior to the beginning of the 2020 NFL season. Kaitlin O'Toole is joined by Washington's Maven Chris Russell for more on this.
