Las Vegas Raiders Fined, Stripped of Draft Pick for Repeat Violations of COVID-19 Protocols
The Las Vegas Raiders are repeat offenders of breaking the NFL’s COVID-19 protocols and it’s costing them. The NFL is fining the Raiders $500,000 and coach Jon Gruden $150,000 but that's not all. The league is also stripping the franchise of a 6th-round draft pick. According to the NFL Network, the escalated fines and loss of a draft pick are related to Trent Brown's positive coronavirus test in late October.
On Thursday Brown was placed on the reserve/Covid 19 list for his second time. Shortly after the Raiders sent their entire starting offensive line home because of contact tracing connected to Brown. This was just the latest of multiple COVID issues within the franchise. After 4 incidents of violating COVID-19 protocols, the Raiders have now been penalized $1.2 million and become the first team to lose a draft pick.
