Behind the stellar connection between QB Kirk Cousins and WR Justin Jefferson, the Minnesota Vikings were able to escape their defensive woes in the regular season en route to a 13-4 record and an NFC North title in 2022-23. The Vikings capitalized on a weak division and a fairly easy strength of schedule, but their season ended abruptly with an upset first-round loss to the New York Giants. In 2023-24, the Vikings will be tested by the surging Detroit Lions, the promising Chicago Bears and the new-look Green Bay Packers.

In this article, we cover the ins and outs regarding all sorts of Minnesota Vikings’ odds, courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook. This is a prospective look at Minnesota’s season, and don’t worry, we dive into fun futures markets like the Vikings’ playoff odds, Super Bowl odds and so much more. If you are eager to bet on any markets concerning the Vikings’ season, read on for our complete coverage.

Minnesota Vikings Week 18 Game Odds

The Vikings continue their 2023-24 season with a divisional foe opponent, the Detroit Lions.  Let's dive into the Week 18 betting odds against the Detroit Lions.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions Money Line Odds

The Vikings will play on the road once again in this one. Betting a team to win is exactly what you are doing when you select a team’s money line odds.

The Vikings are +195 money line underdogs at DraftKings against the Lions, meaning that a $10 bet profits $19.50 if the Vikings win the game. If you want to bet on the Lions money line, a $23.80 bet will profit $10 if they win. This is because the Lions carries a price tag of -138 at DraftKings.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions Spread Odds

When you wager on the spread, you are betting on a team to cover a certain number of points. In this case, the Vikings are a +5-point underdogs with -110 odds at FanDuel. This means a $11 bet will profit $10 if the Vikings win the game outright or lose by fewer than five points. The Lions are -5-point underdogs with -110 odds at FanDuel, so a $11 bet returns $10 of winnings if they win by more than five points.

Minnesota Vikings Odds: Futures Markets

The Vikings odds of winning the NFC Conference sits at a whopping +1600 at Caesars.

Minnesota Vikings NFC North Winner Odds

The Vikings no longer have odds to win the NFC North after the Detroit Lions wrapped up the division after the Week 16 win over the Vikings.

Minnesota Vikings Odds to Make the Playoffs

Minnesota Vikings Division Finishing Position Odds 2023-24

While the above futures markets are the most popular, there is much more than just the Vikings’ odds to make the playoffs and Vikings Super Bowl odds. It continues with their exact finishing position within the NFC North, which we have for you below from the start of the season:

The Lions are projected to take a noticeable step up on the defensive side of the ball while maintaining an excellent offense after flashing the fifth-best scoring offense and third-worst scoring defense a year ago. The Packers have undergone a retooling with the departure of Aaron Rodgers and the Bears suffered 14 losses last season, but QB Justin Fields had a phenomenal campaign, and the rest of the team should be better in 2023-24.

This leaves the Vikings, who retain some crucial production at the top, but have a lot of sorting to do if they want to be a complete team. The Vikings may keep pace with the Lions on offense, but their depth of weapons and struggling defense could keep them from defending their NFC North title.

Minnesota Vikings Player Prop Bet Odds

We have discussed an array of team futures betting markets concerning the Vikings. Now it's time to pinpoint some player prop and awards bets.

Justin Jefferson Regular Season MVP Odds

With Justin Jefferson getting injured for several weeks, Jefferson's MVP odds on DraftKings have been removed.

Justin Jefferson Offensive Player of the Year Odds

Just as same as the MVP odds, the Offensive Player of the Year odds have been removed for Justin Jefferson.

Kirk Cousins Most Passing Yards in League Odds

QB Kirk Cousins has had his fair share of big-game mishaps, but his durability and reliable high-achieving passing yards marks have made him into one of the most consistent at his position on a year-to-year basis. Cousins threw for over 4,500 yards last season, good for fourth in the NFL, and has thrown for over 4,000 in seven of his eight years as a starter.

The 34-year-old veteran is starting to get up there in age but given the young talent of Jefferson and Addison to pair with his accuracy and decision-making, plus the Vikings potentially being in a handful of shootouts, Cousins could realistically achieve over 5,000 yards passing this season, which the usual benchmark of the NFL leader in passing yards. At +400, Cousins has the second-best odds to lead the NFL in this category.

Alexander Mattison Regular Season Rushing TDs Odds

With Dalvin Cook cut for monetary purposes, the Vikings will ride with career backup Alexander Mattison at RB. The 26-year-old has been effective in spot starts and substitutions, but he will now be put to the test as the primary back for the first time since college.

On 74 carries in 2022, Mattison set a career high in rushing touchdowns with five. As the lead back, DraftKings has his total set at just 6.5 touchdowns this season with -105 odds on the over and -115 odds on the under. Mattison benefited from a lot of goal line work a season ago, but that opportunity should be just as plentiful, if not more, this season.

Betting on Minnesota Vikings in Minnesota

Unfortunately, it’s not yet legal to bet on sports within the state of Minnesota. However, if you happen to be a Viking fan outside of Minnesota and are located in a legal betting state, like Illinois or Michigan, for example, then you should have no problems placing bets on Vikings odds to make the playoffs today.

How to Read Minnesota Vikings Betting Odds & Calculate Winnings

Now that we’ve journeyed through all sorts of betting markets, like the Vikings’ odds to win the Super Bowl or Week 1 betting odds, it’s vital we also break down how to read those odds. Let’s start with an outcome that is favored.

Such prices are designated with a minus sign (-) preceding the numerical value. For example, the Vikings’ odds for Week 1 have them as -270 favorites on the money line. In that case, a $27 wager profits $10 as long as Minnesota wins the game. On the flip side, Vikings odds today beginning with a plus sign (+) would be considered an underdog.

An example of this is Minnesota listed at a +245 price on the money line against the Eagles in Week 2. In that case, a $10 bet profits $24.50 as long as the Vikings win the game. Of course, odds will vary throughout the season, but each of the above examples can be applied to those different Vikings odds.

Other Teams in the NFL

While this article focuses on Vikings odds across a multitude of betting markets, all 32 teams are available to wager on in the same vein. We have a quick breakdown of the entire NFL for you. Starting from the top, the 32 teams are split into two conferences - the AFC and NFC.

WIth 16 teams in each conference, they are then broken down into four divisions - the North, South, East and West. In those four divisions, there are four teams in each one. For example, the NFC North consists of the Vikings, Lions, Bears and Packers.

Each division winner automatically earns a postseason spot, which makes up four of the seven playoff teams in each conference. The other three are determined by the three best records of non-division winners. Those teams earn wild card spots, so that there are seven playoff teams in each conference, for 14 in total.
