Dates Revealed for Vikings' 2024 Offseason Program
The NFL has announced the dates for all 32 teams' offseason workout programs this spring and summer. This is a "voluntary" nine-week program that isn't really voluntary, unless you're a star player engaged in a contract dispute or something along those lines. The only Vikings player who conceivably might not be in attendance would be Justin Jefferson, who is still in line for a massive extension this offseason.
The program is broken up into three phases. Phase One is the first two weeks, consisting of just meetings and strength/conditioning workouts. Phase Two is the next three weeks, where teams move into on-field workouts but are still limited to drills and walk-through reps. Phase Three, the final four weeks, includes ten organized team activity (OTA) sessions with padless, contact-free full team reps. There's also a mandatory minicamp during the third phase of the offseason program.
These are the dates for the Vikings:
- Day 1: April 15
- OTAs: May 20-21, May 23, May 28-29, May 31, June 10-13
- Mandatory minicamp: June 4-6
There will also be a rookie minicamp on one of the first two weekends following the draft, the exact dates of which will be announced later on.
Basically, the Vikings will be back in the facility in mid-April, beginning a nine-week period that concludes with the final OTAs in mid-June. After that, they'll be off for 5-6 weeks before training camp begins and things really start ramping up towards the season.
