Lowe is a 2022 sixth-rounder who had a solid preseason this year.

The Vikings are trading offensive tackle Vederian Lowe to the New England Patriots for a sixth-round pick, according to Jordan Schultz.

Lowe was drafted in the sixth round out of Illinois last year. He appeared in one game as a rookie, the Vikings' meaningless regular season finale against the Bears. This year, Lowe had a solid preseason and appeared set to be one of the team's backup tackles.

Across 140 snaps in three preseason games, Lowe earned a 72.0 PFF grade. After allowing four pressures in the opening contest against the Seahawks, he was better against the Titans the following week, earning an 80.3 pass-blocking grade on 40 snaps. Lowe played left tackle in the first two games, then swapped sides with Oli Udoh and played right tackle for 11 snaps in Saturday's finale.

The Vikings now have Udoh and Blake Brandel as their top backup tackles. Udoh had some rough moments against the Titans, but he played well at RT in the final three games of last year (regular season and playoffs). Brandel has played guard this year during training camp and the preseason, but he was the Vikings' backup left tackle last year when Christian Darrisaw missed time.

The Patriots have now acquired two offensive tackles on Sunday. They previously traded RB Pierre Strong Jr. to the Browns for OT Tyrone Wheatley Jr.

It feels like this might not be the last trade we see from Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah this week.

Rosters need to be officially trimmed down to 53 by Tuesday afternoon.
