The Vikings' Complete (Rumored) 2023 Regular Season Schedule
Nothing is official until the NFL announces it on Thursday night, but thanks to a variety of leaks on the internet, we have a pretty good idea of what the Vikings' 2023 regular season schedule is going to look like.
Some of these come from a handful of beat writers. Many of them come from a seemingly informed Twitter account with the handle @SkolBros. In several instances, his reports have been verified elsewhere.
Again, nothing is official, so I'd recommend against booking flights to away games just yet. But this is what we've got, with home games in bold. All of the times and TV channels will be announced with the official release tonight.
- Week 1: Tampa Bay Buccaners (9/10)
- Week 2: at Philadelphia Eagles (Thursday Night Football, 9/14)

- Week 5: Kansas City Chiefs (10/8)
- Week 6: at Chicago Bears (10/15)
- Week 7: San Francisco 49ers (Monday Night Football, 10/23)
- Week 8: at Green Bay Packers (10/29)
- Week 9: at Atlanta Falcons (11/5)

- Week 12: Chicago Bears (Monday Night Football, 11/27)
- Week 13: BYE
- Week 14: at Las Vegas Raiders (12/10)
- Week 15: at Cincinnati Bengals (Date TBD)
- Week 16: Detroit Lions (12/24)
- Week 17: Green Bay Packers (Sunday Night Football, 12/31)
- Week 18: at Detroit Lions (1/7)
A few quick takeaways:
- We already knew, based on the opponents, that this was going to be a tough schedule. But getting the Eagles, Chargers, Chiefs, and 49ers within the first seven games means the Vikings are going to be tested early and often. Getting off to a strong start will be huge.
- What a final stretch. Following a tough trip to Cincinnati, the Vikings close with three straight division games, including two against the Lions, who are expected to be their toughest competition in the NFC North. There could be a ton on the line in that last month.
- Five primetime games! The Vikings are scheduled to appear on TNF once and both SNF and MNF twice. The two SNF games could potentially be flexed out, but for now, it's five night games.
- The early part of the season will feature reunions in back to back weeks. Eric Kendricks will make his return with U.S. Bank Stadium with the Chargers in Week 3, and the Vikings will then see Adam Thielen and the Panthers in Charlotte the following Sunday.
- There likely won't be any games played in frigid temperatures. The Vikings get their Chicago and Green Bay trips out of the way in October, which is unusual. Typically at least one of those games happens in December or later. Week 11 in Denver and Week 15 in Cincy could potentially be chilly, but neither is unlikely to be significantly cold.
- That Week 13 bye is a late one.
Much more coverage to come once the schedule is made official.
