Vikings Injury Updates: Trishton Jackson, Andrew Booth Jr., Alexander Mattison

Going over all of the injury updates from Tuesday's Vikings training camp practice.
In this story:

During 1-on-1 drills at Tuesday's practice, Vikings wide receiver Trishton Jackson leapt to attempt a one-handed grab, came down awkwardly, and immediately appeared to be in significant pain while grabbing for his knee. He remained down for three or four minutes while trainers gathered around to attend to him. Eventually, the cart came out for Jackson and teammates went over to show him love as he was taken off the practice field.

To put it simply, it didn't look good. If it's as bad as it appears, it would be a brutal blow for Jackson, a 25-year-old receiver who had a great offseason and was off to a strong start in training camp. The former Syracuse standout has come a long way during three years on the practice squads of the Rams and Vikings, but this injury could stall his progress for a while.

"Definitely tough to see him go down like that," Justin Jefferson said after practice. "We're going to be praying for him, we're going to be right there with him."

Here are a few other injury updates from Vikings practice on Tuesday, which saw several players get banged up.

  • Cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. left the field with a trainer early on and did not return.
  • Starting RB Alexander Mattison got banged up towards the end of practice and sat out for the rest of the day. He was limping on the sidelines, but could be heard saying "I should be OK" as he headed into the locker room after practice.
  • OLB Marcus Davenport took part in 1-on-1 drills but did not participate in the full-team period for reasons that are unclear.
  • RB Kene Nwangwu was in street clothes during practice, so Ty Chandler, C.J. Ham, and DeWayne McBride handled all the reps after Mattison left.
  • Still not participating due to injuries: WR Jalen Nailor, RT Brian O'Neill, OLB Andre Carter II, OL Chris Reed, and OL Sam Schlueter.

We may not know more about some of these injuries until Kevin O'Connell speaks to the media on Thursday afternoon.
