Vikings Tuesday Injury Report: Estimates For Mattison, O'Neill, Jefferson

The Vikings held a walkthrough on Tuesday. Here's how they estimated practice participation.
In this story:

The Vikings held a walkthrough on Tuesday at TCO Performance Center, so their first practice report of the week is just an estimation. They'll practice normally on Wednesday and Thursday ahead of Saturday's game against the Bengals (12 p.m. central time, NFL Network).

Nonetheless, the estimated participation levels are still notable when it comes to players' chances of suiting up in Cincinnati. Three players — RB Alexander Mattison, RT Brian O'Neill, and WR Jalen Nailor — were listed as DNPs. Mattison and O'Neill have ankle sprains and Nailor is in the concussion protocol. They'll likely need to get to limited participation by Thursday to have a chance to play on Saturday.

O'Neill's backup is David Quessenberry. Mattison's is Ty Chandler, though Kene Nwangwu and C.J. Ham could also get carries if Mattison is out.

Three players were estimated as limited participants: WR Justin Jefferson, LG Dalton Risner, and RG Ed Ingram. That's a good sign for their availability. Jefferson (chest) avoided any significant damage from the big hit he took in the first half against the Raiders. Risner (ankle) and Ingram (hip) also have a good chance to play against the Bengals. Their backups, if needed, are Austin Schlottmann and Blake Brandel.

For the Bengals, WR Ja'Marr Chase was a DNP with an ankle injury, so that's something to monitor on their end.
