Vikings vs. Seahawks Live Score Updates: NFL Preseason Week 1
It's time for football. Preseason football, sure, but still football.
The Vikings are in Seattle to take on the Seahawks at Lumen Field in the preseason opener for both teams. From the Minnesota perspective, here are five things to watch tonight.
Kevin O'Connell isn't expected to play any of his stars or many starters at all in this game. Some big names who likely will see at least some time are tight end Josh Oliver, cornerback Akayleb Evans, and first-round rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison. The Seahawks also have first-round WR making his NFL debut in Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who was taken three slots ahead of Addison.
At quarterback, Vikings veteran backup Nick Mullens will start and play roughly a half before giving way to rookie Jaren Hall. It's going to be fun to get a look at a bunch of Minnesota's rookies, including Mekhi Blackmon, Ivan Pace Jr., and DeWayne McBride.
Last year, the Vikings went 0-3 in the preseason. That obviously meant nothing, as they proceeded to go 13-4 in the regular season in O'Connell's first year. With Mullens and Hall replacing Sean Mannion and Kellen Mond as the team's preseason QBs, the Vikings should be more competitive in their August slate this time around.
Ultimately, these games are all about evaluating players ahead of the August 29th roster cutdown day.
Here's how to watch, listen to, or stream the game.

0:00 — Jaren Hall struggled to move the ball in the second half.
Seahawks 24, Vikings 13
7:47 — Seahawks rookie QB Holton Ahlers chucked one up for Matt Landers, who evaded Kalon Barnes for a 30-yard touchdown.
10:55 — The Seahawks stuff DeWayne McBride on 4th and 1 for a turnover on downs. Jaren Hall had a nice throw to N'Keal Harry earlier on the drive.
Third Quarter
Seahawks 17, Vikings 13
0:00 — The Seahawks' punt bounced off Thayer Thomas for a muff that gave Seattle great field position. They capitalized with a touchdown reception by Jake Bobo, who beat Andrew Booth Jr. off the line of scrimmage.
Vikings 13, Seahawks 10
3:24 — Greg Joseph gives the Vikings the lead back with a 54-yard field goal.
5:06 — Vikings rookie cornerback Jaylin Williams just picked off Drew Lock for the first turnover of the game. Ball may have been tipped slightly, but it was a great play by Williams to read Lock and come off his man to make the play.
8:07 — On his first series, Jaren Hall completes a couple passes and throws a couple balls away after escaping the pocket. The Vikings get one first down and punt.
Vikings 10, Seahawks 10
11:08 — The Seahawks drive down and tie the game up with a field goal on the opening possession of the second half. It's Jaren Hall time for the Vikings.
Second Quarter
0:00 — A Luiji Vilain sack brings the first half to a close.
0:49 — Ryan Wright downs the Seahawks at their own 2 with a nice punt.
Vikings 10, Seahawks 7
4:16 — The Seahawks are on the board. They drive 59 yards on six plays and score on a Drew Lock passing touchdown to Easop Winston. Some teaching moments for the Vikings' defense on that series.
8:27 — Another Seahawks punt on their third possession. Vikings getting the ball back.
Vikings 10, Seahawks 0
11:26 — That's a Vikings touchdown on a great leaping catch by tight end Nick Muse. They went 80 yards on 11 plays, with Nick Mullens hitting Jordan Addison and Jalen Reagor for big gains.
First Quarter
0:00 — Back to back catches for Brandon Powell, for a combined 22 yards, are the final two plays of the first quarter.
2:03 — The Seahawks just punted again and have only gained 21 yards on eight plays. Brian Flores is bringing pressure, as expected. Mekhi Blackmon had a nice coverage rep in that series.
Vikings 3, Seahawks 0
5:20 — The Vikings drove 71 yards on 14 plays, but their offense stalled out in the red zone. A short Greg Joseph field goal gets them on the board first. Ty Chandler is off to a strong start in this game. Jordan Addison made a great sideline catch that was ruled incomplete, even though he appeared to get both feet down.
12:07 — Both teams go three and out to start the game. Lewis Cine made a nice tackle for the Vikings on first down and Luiji Vilain had a QB hit on third down to force a punt.
