Watch: Nick Mullens Throws Awful Interception to Defensive Tackle

Mullens has two bad interceptions in the first half against the Bengals.

The Vikings moved the ball pretty well against the Bengals in the first half of Saturday's game; they had 188 total yards and Nick Mullens was 12 of 16 for 155 yards as a passer.

The problem is that two of Mullens' misses were catastrophic interceptions.

After taking a 7-3 lead by scoring on their opening drive for the first time all season, the Vikings had two impressive drives that ended in interceptions in field goal range. On the first one, Mullens dropped back from the Cincinnati 14 and threw a pick to Mike Hilton near the goal line.

The second one was comically bad. With the ball at the Bengals' 22 late in the first half, Mullens was getting sacked and decided to try to throw the ball away before hitting the ground. It hit DT B.J. Hill in the chest and ended up in his arms for one of the worst interceptions you'll see all season.

Those two plays directly cost the Vikings a chance at six points and a 13-3 lead if Greg Joseph had been able to hit both field goals. They just can't happen. If you're Mullens — who also threw a dropped INT earlier in the second quarter — you have to live to kick the field goal.

It's 7-3 Vikings at halftime. Follow along for live updates here.
