What are the Vikings' Odds to Win Super Bowl LIX Next Year?

The Vikings are a ways away from championship contention.
In this story:

With this NFL season coming to an end, the focus shifts to the offseason — and ultimately, to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans one year from now.

Various sportsbooks have released their initial Super Bowl future odds for next year. As you can probably guess, the Vikings aren't very high up on the list. At SI Sportsbook, Minnesota is +5000 to win the championship in the 2024-25 season. That's tied with the Falcons and Colts for the 18th-best odds among the league's 32 teams, which is basically in line with the Vikings' position in post-Super Bowl power rankings.

It's also last in the NFC North. The Lions (+1200, T-5th), Packers (+2000, T-9th), and Bears (+4000, T-16th) all have lower odds to win the Super Bowl than the Vikings do. Unsurprisingly, the 49ers (+500) and Chiefs (+650) are the favorites, with the Panthers (+20000) bringing up the rear.

Other major sportsbooks have the Vikings between +4000 (FanDuel) and +6000 (BetRivers).

The Vikings' odds will undoubtedly shift based on what happens this offseason. If they end up re-signing Kirk Cousins, signing a couple important defensive free agents (Danielle Hunter?), and essentially running it back in 2024, their odds should get better this spring. If Cousins ends up elsewhere, though, the Vikings' odds will likely get even higher than +5000, regardless of who they eventually sign and/or draft to replace him.

Of course, it would be worth taking a step back in 2024 if it means finding a path to legitimate title contention in the years to come.

It's going to be a fascinating offseason in Minnesota.
