Chris Kreider's season is likely over.
The Rangers' winger underwent surgery on his broken left hand on Friday, the team announced on Twitter.
Kreider had played in 66 games, recording 37 points this season for the Rangers, including 17 goals. He suffered the injury in a game against Columbus, playing two more games after hurting the hand.
Friday's game with Calgary is the second he's missed since suffering the injury. He also sat out against Philadelphia on Wednesday.
"We waited for the doctors to tell us the best course of action," Alain Vigneault told media members on Friday. "They came to the conclusion yesterday, and he got operated on today."
