Sharks, Kings to play in 2015 NHL Stadium Series
The San Jose Sharks will play the Los Angeles Kings as part of the 2015 NHL Stadium Series, the NHL announced Wednesday.
The Sharks will be the home team for the game, which will take place Feb. 21, 2015 at 10 p.m. ET at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Levi’s Stadium is the new home of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers.
The Kings, who are the defending Stanley Cup champions, will be playing in their second outdoor game. Los Angeles lost 3-0 to the Anaheim Ducks at Dodger Stadium on Jan. 25.
The Kings overcame a 3-0 series deficit to beat San Jose in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs last season. Los Angeles beat the New York Rangers in five games to take home the Stanley Cup for the second time in three seasons.

"The growing excitement around NHL hockey in California hockey, the intensity of last season's playoff series between these teams and the state-of-the-art setting at Levi's Stadium will bring a thrilling new dimension to the Kings-Sharks rivalry," NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said.
