Colorado Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy announced Thursday that left winger Patrick Bordeleau will miss three months after having offseason back surgery, according to Adrian Dater of the Denver Post.
Bordeleau has played two NHL seasons, both with the Avalanche. He totaled 11 points in 82 games last season.

The Montreal native was originally drafted in the fourth round by the Minnesota Wild in 2004 and spent four seasons with the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL before making his NHL debut.
Avalanche training camp begins on Friday. Last season, Colorado won the Central Division with 112 points before falling to the Wild in the first round.
