The girlfriend of Semyon Varlamov is suing the Colorado Avalanche goalkeeper over alleged domestic violence, according to a report from TMZ Sports.

The girlfriend of Semyon Varlamov is suing the Colorado Avalanche goalkeeper over alleged domestic violence, according to a report from TMZ Sports.

Charges against Varlamov over the incident were dropped last year after prosecutors felt the case could not be proved beyond a reasonable doubt.

A copy of the lawsuit, which includes allegations that Varlamov abused Evgeniya Vavrinyuk in 2012 and 2013, was obtained by NBCSports.

Los Angeles Kings defenseman Slava Voynov was recently arrested over a domestic violence case and suspended indefinitely by the NHL.

The league has not suspended Varlamov.
