Touted NHL draft prospect Connor McDavid left his OHL game Tuesday night with what appeared to be a right hand injury, according to Victor Fernandes of the Erie Times-News.
According to Fernandes, McDavid, who plays for the Erie Otters, sustained the injury during a fight with the Mississauga Steelheads' Bryson Cianfrone in the second period, with McDavid missing Cianfrone with a punch and accidentally hitting the glass.
McDavid was reportedly taken to the hospital for X-Rays. According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, McDavid will see a hand specialist Wednesday.
The center received five minutes for fighting and a game misconduct for removing Cianfrone's helmet before leaving the game.
