Watch: Stars defenseman John Klingberg scores from past center ice
Things are bad for the Edmonton Oilers, but Tuesday night, we were all reminded that it can always get worse. Especially for their goaltenders.
One day after firing their goalie coach, Frederic Chabot, the Oilers allowed a goal that is probably one of the worst goals allowed in the history of hockey, and added to the comedy of errors that has comprised the Oilers’ 2014-15 season thus far.
After a neutral zone faceoff, defenseman John Klingberg skated over the Stars’ logo at center ice and sent a slapshot into the Oilers’ end that snuck past goalie Viktor Fasth.
Klingberg has played in seven games for Dallas this season since being recalled from their AHL affiliate Texas Stars, for whom he played three games during the 2013-14 season. The 22-year-old Swede has six NHL points in since joining the Stars.
The Edmonton Oilers are 6-13-2 with 14 points in 2014-15 and the Dallas Stars stand at 8-9-4 with 20 points on the season.
