Ducks sign Ilya Bryzgalov; Corey Perry (knee) out 3-4 weeks
The Ducks have signed veteran goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov to a one-year contract, the team announced Tuesday. The team also announced that Corey Perrywill miss three to four weeks with a knee sprain.
The Ducks have two goalies currently on injured reserve: John Gibson and Jason LaBarbera. The team announced on Nov. 4 that Gibson, who entered the season as the backup to Frederik Andersen, would miss six weeks with a groin injury. LaBarbera broke a bone in his hand, the team announced last week, and is expected to miss two or three weeks.
In November, injuries to Gibson and Andersen forced the Ducks to dress 45-year-old goalie coach Dwayne Roloson as their emergency backup.
• Jets' Evander Kane suspended two games for illegal hit
Perry is the team's leading goal scorer and is second on the team in points. He was injured in Minnesota on Friday on a check from Wild defenseman Keith Ballard.
The Ducks currently have the best record in the NHL at 18-6-5.
