Jets' Evander Kane suspended two games for illegal hit
Jets forward Evander Kane has been suspended two games for his illegal check on Ducks defenseman Clayton Stoner, the league announced Monday.
Kane was assessed a five-minute major penalty for boarding and a 10-minute game misconduct for boarding Stoner late in the second period of Sunday's game. Stoner was not injured.
Stoner's back was to Kane for the entirety of the play and Kane made no effort to minimize the force of the hit, the NHL ruled.

Kane will miss road games against the Stars and Avalanche. After the suspension, Kane will have played in 20 of Winnipeg's 30 games this season; he previously missed eight games with a knee injury. The 23-year-old winger is tied for sixth on the team in points.
