Devils place Patrik Elias (groin) on injured reserve
The Devils have placed forward Patrik Elias on injured reserve after he re-aggravated a groin injury, the team announced Tuesday.
Elias, 38, missed last Thursday's game against the Maple Leafs with a sore groin. He returned to the ice Saturday against the Capitals but re-aggravated the injury.
Elias is sixth on the team in points. He was the team's second-leading scorer last season despite playing in only 65 games.

The Devils have recalled 21-year-old center Reid Boucher from their AHL affiliate to take Elias' place on the roster. This will be Boucher's second stint in the NHL this season. He saw limited action in three games in late October and early November. Boucher scored seven points in 23 games last season.
