Capitals' Alex Ovechkin shatters goal camera with a rocket of a slap shot

Alex Ovechkin shattered the net cam with a first-period goal against the Edmonton Oilers.

What did that net cam ever do to you, Alex?

On Tuesday, Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin’s stat line after the first period read two goals and one net cam. On the forward’s second goal of the evening against the Oilers, Ovechkin let go a snap shot from the high circle that got behind the Oilers’ goalie that found its way to the back of the net.

The heat seeking missile also struck the net cam, not just breaking it, but shattering it. 

Ovechkin now sits in third place for the NHL lead in goals with 27.
