Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Ryan Murray suffered a left high ankle sprain on Friday and is expected to miss four to six weeks, the team announced Saturday.

Murray sustained the injury in the third period of the Blue Jackets' 7-1 win over the St. Louis Blues. He found himself tangled with center Ryan Johansen and fell down, with Johansen landing on top of him. He skated off with no weight on his left leg and went straight to the dressing room.

The second-year player has appeared in only seven games this season and missed 44 of Columbus' first 48 games after having surgery on his right knee.

The Blue Jackets drafted Murray with the second overall pick in 2012. In 2013-14, he played in 66 games with four goals, 17 assists and an average 19:52 time on ice.
