Predators defenseman Shea Weber to miss rest of Blackhawks series
Nashville Predators defenseman Shea Weber will miss the rest of the team's first-round series against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Predators updated Weber's status Friday, announcing he would be sidelined for both Game 6 on Saturday in Chicago and a potential Game 7 next week. Weber, the team's captain, suffered an undisclosed lower-body injury in Game 2. The team did not go into specifics, but clarified that it was not an ACL injury, contrary to media reports.
Weber, one of the NHL's top defenders, recorded 15 goals and 30 assists in 78 games this season, skating more than 26 minutes per night.
The Predators trail the Blackhawks 3-2 in the series and have gone 1-2 without Weber the past three games. Nashville staved off elimination Thursday night with a 5-2 win at home, behind a hat trick from Filip Forsberg.
