Capitals acquire Blues' T.J. Oshie for Copley, Brouwer, 2016 pick
The Washington Capitals acquired right wing T.J. Oshie from St. Louis in a trade that will send right wing Troy Brouwer, minor league goalie Pheonix Copley, and a 2016 third-round draft pick to the Blues, the Capitals announced Thursday.
Oshie had the fifth-most points of any Blues' player last season with 55 points (19 goals and 36 assists), and logged one goal and one assist in the Blues' first-round playoff series against the Minnesota Wild.
Oshie has two years and $9 million remaining on a contract he signed in 2012 with the Blues.
The 2005 first-round draft pick represented the United States at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, as well as at three World Championships.
