Report: John Tortorella to coach USA World Cup of Hockey team
Vancouver Canucks head coach John Tortorella will be named head coach of the United States’ national team for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, according to TSN Senior Hockey Reporter Frank Seravalli.
The official team announcement is expected to be made on Monday night after the NFL’s Jets vs. Colts game.

Tortorella is the winningest American head coach in the NHL after compiling 446 wins during 14 years with the New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Vancouver Canucks. Most recently, he was one-and-done in Vancouver after a 36–35 season in 2013-14.
The 2016 World Cup of Hockey is set to take place in Toronto next September featuring squads from the United States, Canada, Russia, Sweden, Finland, the Czech Republic and two All-Star teams composed of players from assorted countries in North America and Europe.
