The Chicago Blackhawks and defenseman Brent Seabrook have agreed to terms on an eight-year contract extension, the team announced Saturday

Seabrook will make $55 million over the course of the contract, ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun reports

Seabrook, 30, will be under contract through the end of the 2023–24 season.

For much of his career, Seabrook has been paired on defense with two-time Norris Trophy winner Duncan Keith. Seabrook and Keith have anchored the Chicago defense during the team’s three recent Stanley Cup championship seasons.

Keith is under contract until the end of the 2022–23 season.
