On a weekend when the NHL is celebrating former greats entering the Hall of Fame, Washington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin showed why he’s destined for the Hall himself.
Early in the second period Ovechkin did what he does best, finishing off some pretty passing from the Capitals on a power-play goal to tie things up with the Maple Leafs.
The goal was his 483rd of his career, tying him with former center Sergei Fedorov for first all time among Russian-born NHL players.

It was Ovi’s eighth goal of the year and it’s likely he’ll put some distance between himself and Federov this season.
