As the entire league has discussions on the size of the nets in the debate of how to increase scoring, the Jets and Predators look to start the discussion with the size of the penalty box.

Things got tight in the box during garbage time of a 7–0 blowout Predators win on Saturday, making for an amusing sight.

The trouble started when Winnipeg was called for offsides but Mark Scheifele still shot the puck into the net behind goalie Pekka Rinne after the whistle. The scrum that ensued resulted in 13 penalties, including 11 for unsportsmanlike conduct, one for slashing and one to Rinne for leaving the crease to join the fray, making for a crowded penalty box on both sides.

Winnipeg might have been on the wrong side of the loss, but the Jets did get the edge in total penalty minutes, 84–72.
