The inaugural National Women’s Hockey League All-Star Weekend will be held on Jan. 23 and 24 at the HarborCenter in Buffalo, the league announced Thursday.

New York Riveters defenseman Emily Pfalzer and two-time Olympic silver medalist Hilary Knight of the Boston Pride were selected as captains for each 14-player team. Pfalzer and Knight will pick players for their respective teams in early December. In addition, fans can vote for two players to join each team after the initial 11 are picked.

The format of the NWHL All-Star game will include two 20 minute periods of four-on-four. The winning team will receive 20% of the ticket sales profits, to be split equally among its members.

The weekend will also feature skills competitions such as shooting accuracy, fastest skater, trick shot and agility obstacle course events.
