Nashville Predators defenseman Shea Weber is an 11-year NHL veteran and four-time All-Star and is somehow still finding ways to add to his lengthy hockey resume.

On Saturday in Detroit, the 30-year-old notched the first hat trick of his career in the Predators’ 5-4 overtime loss against the Red Wings. A first-period assist made for a four-point night for Weber.

His three-goal night also marked the

first hatty by a Predators defenseman in franchise history, with each of his tallies coming on the man advantage.

Weber’s feat was made more notable due to the fact only seven other defensemen have scored hat tricks since 2009, and he joins Oilers forward Taylor Hall as the only players since 2011 to score three times on the power play in one game.
