On Friday against the Edmonton Oilers, the big 25-year-old Swede went above and beyond to assist his goalie when forward Leon Draisaitl had a yawning net to shoot at in the waning moments of the first period, only to be thwarted by Hedman’s efforts on the goal line.

Draisaitl got nothing but stick.
It might be one of the best saves of the season and it comes from a man not wearing the bulky pads between the pipes.
