Robyn Regehr returns to Calgary to retire as member of Flames
Although he won the Stanley Cup with the Kings in 201, defenseman Robyn Regehr has a retired as a member of the Flames, with whom he spent 11 seasons.
CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Despite winning the Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings, Robyn Regehr retired as a Calgary Flame.
The Flames welcomed Regehr back at a news conference to announce his retirement on Monday.
The defenseman played 11 seasons with Calgary before he was traded to the Buffalo Sabres and then to the Kings.
Regehr won the Cup with the Kings in 2014 before his final season in the NHL. He ranks second all time in games played for the Flames with 826.
The 35-year-old also played for Canada in the 2006 Olympics.
