The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired forwards Dale Weise and Tomas Fleischmann from the Montreal Canadiens, the team announced Friday.

In exchange, the Canadiens have received forward Phillip Danault and Chicago’s second-round selection in the 2018 draft. Danault, 23, had one goal and four assists this season for the Blackhawks, while also adding one goal and one assist in six games with the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.

“Phillip Danault is a young and gifted player who will be part of our core group of young forwards for many years to come. I am very pleased to have him join our organization,” Montreal general manager Marc Bergevin said in a statement.

In 56 games with the Habs this season, the 27-year-old Weise tallied 26 points on 14 goals and 12 assists, while also recording 22 penalty minutes. Fleischmann, 31, registered 20 points on 10 goals and 10 assists for Montreal, with 28 penalty minutes in 57 contests during the 2015–16 campaign.

The deal was the second of the day for Chicago, which acquired defenseman Christian Ehrhoff from the Kings a day after landing forward Andrew Ladd from the Jets.
