The St. Louis Blues gave a young fan a night he'll never forget on Tuesday.

Wyatt Nelson, 12, became a minor celebrity last week when he and his father, Gerry, were featured in a Discover Card "Day With The Cup" video. The spot, which showed how Wyatt does play-by-play of Saskatoon Blades games for his blind father, caught the attention of Kelly Chase. The former Blade, and current Blues radio analyst, got together with team GM Doug Armstrong and arranged for the Nelsons to fly to St. Louis to attend Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.

Of course, the Blues did it up right. They brought Wyatt and his dad to the morning skate, where they got to meet with Armstrong and legendary netminder Martin Brodeur. Later, they got to hang with members of the team, including Alex Pietrangelo, Robby Fabbri and Paul Stastny.

And then Wyatt was given his big break: the chance to step in for Blues play-by-play man Chris Kerber and call a few minutes of the action between the Blues and the Sharks on KMOX radio.

Not bad, eh?

His stint behind the mic impressed everyone, including Doc Emrick. The voice of hockey in the United States gave Wyatt a call when his shift was up to offer his congratulations.

"[Emrick] is one of the guys I quite like and want to be when I am calling a game," Wyatt told NHL.com. "That was really cool."

Kerber was touched by Wyatt and the special relationship he has with his dad.

"I just think it is a neat moment," he said. "As a broadcaster, you are the eyes and ears of so many people. For a young kid to be the eyes of his dad, I think it is a bonding moment every time they talk. You can see it. It was a real neat moment and, frankly, that is what we do in this business and that's what you love."

And yes, pollen levels are high today. If your allergies are acting up and your eyes are watering after watching this, you're probably not alone.
