Panthers’ Aleksander Barkov Records Incredible Diving Assist After Juggling Puck on His Stick
Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov recorded a stunning assist during Monday night’s game against the New York Rangers, setting up teammate Sam Reinhart for a mesmerizing goal during the second period.
Barkov impressively controlled an airborne puck by juggling it on his stick while skating full speed, before diving forward and tapping the puck off to Reinhart, who tucked away his 43rd goal of the season.
Barkov had some trouble with the entry pass from Carter Verhaeghe during the Panthers’ power play, but he ended up controlling the puck in sensational fashion and fearlessly dove to the ice in order to set up Reinhart for the brilliant goal.
Barkov’s smoothly maneuvered assist was his first of the night, and he set up Reinhart again a couple of minutes later for his second assist of the game, giving Florida a 2–1 lead, though the Rangers evened it up shortly after.
The 28-year-old is up to 47 assists on the season, though none were as spectacular as the pass he conjured up on the road in New York on Monday night.
